First Real Snow

Growing up  in Southern CA, I had only visited places where snow had fallen.  It wasn't fresh and untouched.  I had no idea.  I knew it was cold.  And it was fun to sled down a hill.  But I had no idea what it was really like until I moved to VA.  Our first winter there, was a doozy!  2 feet of snow in a span of about 6 days.  For me and that area, that was a lot of snow!

It was really neat...the first time.

When I moved from Missouri to the gulf coast of Texas, one of the things I missed most was snow and the change of fall leaves. I am happy to be back home in Missouri but now I miss the short winter of Texas! Guess I can't have it all!

I love it when the snow falls every year here in NV. It's comforting being inside, under soft blankets, watching family movies with the kids, and drinking hot cocoa! It's not so fun to drive in and the winters here are pretty long. But I still love watching the snow fall or waking up to a fresh new blanket of snow in the neighborhood.

I am so laughing out loud at "the first time"...yeah, I hear ya. Even as a Canadian, I can say that the first snowfall of the season is nice...not the 27th one!
